HAND AND FEET

ANATOMY STUDY

My teacher advised me to practice sculpting hands and feet to improve my speed in creating blockouts for them. He assigned me the task of sculpting and polypainting realistic hands, so I used my own hands and feet as references and got to work. Initially, I thought this would be a simple task, but I was quickly proven wrong—it turned out to be much more challenging to make them look realistic.

Part of the difficulty may have been due to ZBrush’s materials and lighting, which made everything look slightly off. However, after exporting the sculpts to Marmoset and making a few tweaks, I was pleasantly surprised by how realistic they looked. I was very happy with the results—though I would have been even happier if I hadn’t had to stare at pictures of feet for a week and a half!
